The kids have the week off for "Spud Harvest" and seeing as we don't work the fields we decided to head up to Yellowstone for a few days. It is only a 90 minute drive! Marc had to go to Minneapolis for meetings, (stayed by the Mall of America, & rode the SpongeBob Rollercoaster.)
Did we feel sorry for him?.. uh no. The Park was beautiful, but VERY COLD! First snow of the season.

Here we are about ready to go into the Park, we saw buffalo and elk along the roadside and amazing geysers and colored pools. (more pictures to post later of that)

We saw lots of bears....wood ones, stuffed ones, skinned ones...we just had to get a picture with one.

We drove down to Old Faithful and sat in the freezing cold to see one of the 7 wonders....everyone wondered where Trey is in this picture....Crazy kids. You'd think he was sick of pictures.

Here we are in front of Old Faithful right after it was done going off. It goes off about every 2 hours or so and it lasts for about 2 minutes. It was amazing! Even educational....don't tell my kids that though...they think this is their week off from learning.

It was a nice break from the routine. We swam at the pool, hot tubbed and relaxed. Katleyn even talked us into doing puzzles! We plan to go up again in the summer with Marc when it is WARMER! Another reason to come visit us! There's lots of wonderful things close by!

That is so fun! Good for you to take the kids by yourself! You are getting so brave!!! Running in races, taking trips by yourself - soon you will be getting your pilots license!!! hehehehee
