Santa's Elves hard at work!

Santa's elves are hard at work this week with Christmas coming up fast. Actually this is Kindra and Trey's new thing. Dressing up. The latest is the "Handy Manny" tool craze. (notice the gloves and all) We had a wonderful time in Moscow with family and friends. This week has been full of ball games and the Ward Christmas party I helped with. We did a Christmas Breakfast (just like our old Rolling Hills ward!) it turned out great and the ward here is super! I am hoping to get our Christmas letters sent this week! Lots more to send this year! Tonight we go to the Christmas in the Snow concert up at BYU-I; the college choirs put it together. It will be fun to see and compare it with the one Uof I does in the Kibbie Dome.

Band, Basketball, Turkey and More!

Weekly update: Mitch had his first band concert and played the percussion section wonderfully! Snare Drum, Bass Drum and Tempo Blocks, he has got it down! What rhythum he has! Katelyn had a fainting spell in her health class when a girl was demonstrating diabetes. She hit the floor face down, but was happy to get a free rootbeer and hotpocket from the vice principal. The girls did great in their basketball games! Avarie even had 2 fouls! Unheard of for her, she sunk her freethrows too! Mitch though had 3 fouls in the first quarter and ended up fouling out. Speaking of "fowls" we are excited to be heading to Moscow for the big feast! It will be fun to gather with family and friends again! Hopefully the weather will cooperate! We love the snow, but not to drive in! Happy Thanksgiving!! We may see some of you!

BRACE yourself.........

She's got them! BRACES! Katelyn was so excited to get her braces, so of course we have to blog about it! She was so brave! She sings in her choir concert tonight...hopefully no spit will fly out while singing! We celebrated after with our new favorite drink, "Carmel Steamer" (carmel hot chocolate) Trey enjoys using his new "Cars" umbrella in the rain. He takes it everywhere we go! Some other updates; Mitch made Jazz band and Avarie is playing JV basketball!

Blondes have more fun!

Who is the new girl in town?

You guessed it! It is my SON Mitchel!
He decided it would be fun to dress-up as a cheerleader for Halloween!

By the Grand Tetons near Jackson Hole Wyoming

Katelyn, Ms. Smartie Pants, Kindra a.k.a. Hannah Montana, Trey the Magician and of course the newest Madison Middle School Cheerleader!

It was nice and warm here so I sat out on the front porch and passed out candy. Last weekend Marc and I got to celebrate my big bday and went to Jackson Hole Wyoming. It was beautiful! Very breathtaking....you are about 7,000 feet up. My next challenge is to get Marc to go back and try skiing~!

REAL IDAHO SPUDS!

Sorry no pictures of gleening the fields this year. I took the easy way out and Trey and I went to Wilcox brothers here (a patato plant) you can buy a 50 lb box of nice big spuds for $15!! Proud to be an Idahoian! As you can see Trey is doing the spud dance! So, we bought a few boxes and called it good! The trim work is done downstairs and the painters are finishing up this week. We almost have a basement!! So, exciting! I will for sure put pics of that on! Aves finished up volleyball....and Katelyn, Mitch and Kindra started basketball. From one event to the next! Life is busy, fun and exhausting! Whew!

Let it snow!

Well, we skipped fall in Rexburg and went straight to winter! It snowed
all weekend and was blowing like "heck" here! Luckily nothing stuck to the ground much, I hear Utah got it much worse. We turned on the fireplace and cuddled up with hot chocolate and blankets to watch movies. Mitchel finished up football, they did well and we were glad they missed playing in the snow! The kids have had the week off for "spud" harvest. This week we plan to "gleen" the fields, get the extras, and we are looking forward to having REAL IDAHO SPUDS! Pictures to come next week of that adventure!
Happy Harvesting!

MUCH TO CELEBRATE!

The wedding was beautiful! What a fun time with family and friends. We hated to come back to school and the rat race! Avarie turned 16 yesterday! Some new friends decorated her locker. We celebrated at Olive Garden with family. Katelyn had her first Volleyball game and learned some new cheers from Madison Jr High, Mitch loves band and Grandpa Skinner is tickled to hear he will be playing THE VIBES!! Kindra loves her little school and says her teacher reminds her of Grandma Limburg. Trey has found that "Elmo in Grouchland" is his new favorite movie, and mom's new lifesavor! Marc had loads of meetings today and said it felt like a Sunday! We are finding there is much to celebrate in life! Pictures yet to come.

GOING CRAZY IN REXBURG!

We are going crazy! 1 week until school starts....my pocket book is empty (after paying for everyones fees!holy cow!) Many boxes still to unpack and a basement to finish...it is no wonder we are looney!
We did get a break at Lagoon early this week to scream off our frustrations on the rides. "Wicked" was the best, the line was the longest too! Next weekend we are off to SLC to a wonderful wedding! Yeah! The girls start volleyball tryouts next week and I found a cute little gym for Kindra to do her gymnastics. Trey keeps asking where his school is.....he isn't too excited about having to be with mom. We will hit the parks and the malls in IF. Until then......keep smiling!

New Blog!

Hi all,

Well, I am getting high tech in my old age. This may look a little rough until I figure out this blogging stuff. I thought it would be a wonderful way to keep in touch with our wonderful Family and Friends and let you know what is going on in the Skinner Family! Life is changing for us as the big move is only 2 weeks away! We will miss everyone on the Palouse and the beautiful rolling hills!
