The Big Bobcat Team Dinner

Tradition in Rexburg is that before home basketball games you go to one of the players houses for an early dinner! Yep, it was my turn! We had all the girls on Avarie's JV bball team over and had a pasta bar with olive garden salad and breadsticks! Yummy....only I forgot that girls don't eat as much as boys and especially before a big game! Tons of leftovers!! The pasta helped... they won and are gearing down with 2 weeks left in the season they have only lost 3 games. Coach told them if they practice hard with the Varsity they can go to State playoffs! (If they make it.) The girls are second in their division right now! Avarie is playing great and it is a fun bunch of girls! More actions shot to come!

SKI SCHOOL is COOL!

Here in southern Idaho they do a thing called Ski School. It is an optional elective once a week for a month where the kids can learn to ski or snowboard. Mitch did skiing this year, but really wants to try snowboarding next year. I was able to chaperone....I haven't skiied for 20 years! (that really is putting my age out there) Anyway, it was a blast! Mitch had it down by the second time down the bunny hill and was basically skiing circles around his instructors! I actually remembered more than I thought, so we both hit the intermediate hills! Mitch caught up with his friends, and I found a girl from my ward whose daughter was up skiing too, so I had a buddy! I am now addicted and hope to drag Marc up soon to teach him how.

Mitchel and his friend Brandon. Brandon was snowboarding , Mitch was skiing but they were able to catch up later during free time.
It was a great mother-son bonding time. I hope he didn't feel like a nerd with mom hanging with him for awhile. We had fun and I think I may have impressed him seeing that his mom is actually a decent skiier!

Christmas Memories!

This is Trey's new dog Lucky. He is so cool! He sits, speaks, lays down, sings, shakes, plays dead, and does not POOP! We love him. I think here he is trying to open the tool set.
Our new family tradition is to make a gingerbread house after Christmas! We then smash it like crazy on New Years Day! The kids all took a side and we had a blast decorating it....but the fun came when we busted out the hammer! I am still picking up gingerbread & candy off the floor!

We had lots of leftovers.....so this is what happened to the key lime pie.....Do you think they have key lime pie disease??

Trey loves orange!(no Boise State fan though- a true Idaho Vandal through and through!) Here he is sporting his new orange sweatshirt and orange guitar! Do the Wiggles need a new guy?
Our theme song he sings all the time now is..."My love opened the door" I guess we have seen way to much "Dan in Real Life" over the break!

Chirstmas Eve dinner. We had just our little family, but we had LOTS of left overs!

In front of the New Christmas Tree! We threw the other out and got this one. It is sad not to have a real one, but we don't miss the cactus look, needles, and sap from the other one.
