You've got to see this to believe it!

Last weekend Marc and I were in the Temple to Temple Relay Race that was put on by BYU-Idaho. Yes, I know... can you believe I got my husband to run with me? He didn't even need cookies in each hand while he ran either. I was so proud of him. We started at the Idaho Falls Temple and each person on our team went 4 miles until we reached the Rexburg Temple. I had to keep telling myself, as all these young college students passed me....."they are 20 years younger than you, they haven't had 5 kids...you can do it...keep breathing." And after it was all over we actually admitted that it was fun!....we did immediately get on the Ibprofen because our muscle were still in shock!
Here we are at the end of our part of the race!

I even talked him into using the I-pod when he ran.....hope he didn't mind the Talyor Swift and Miley Cyrus songs?...real blood pumping, motivating running songs huh.
What nice form, even though we did walk part of the way, he is seen here running as he gets to the exchange zone.
Here is our team when we reached the Rexburg Temple. (The Comm Department) See we are all smiling! We were done!!(It only took us 5 hours)

Homecoming Dance and craziness

Avarie went to the homecoming dance with a friend in our ward, Tyler. It was crazy because he asked her on Tuesday and the dance was Saturday so we were frantically trying to figure out the dress, flower, hair thing. They doubled with another couple and had dinner at her friend Megan's house. Their colors sure did match well. It was a fun night. The flower exchange....always interesting.... and of course they loved all the pictures we took!
To add a little more craziness, Spirit day was Mitchel and Katelyns excuse to dress-up and act weird?! They both had fun with it.

Here Katelyn is one the phone coordinating with her friend about what to wear....she is never on the phone you know....Mitchel is trying to hide the fact, but we all know Katelyn way to well. :)

Powderpuff and Cheering

This week is homecoming! Avarie was so excited to not be playing volleyball so she could play powderfull football. She was runningback. She loved it and had fun smokin' everyone.
She even had a touchdown! We enjoyed cheering her on, but after 3 1/2 hours we left....she scored right after that of course!
Here she is with her buddy Leslee. They had crazy hair done by the Paul Mitchel Hair school...it was VERY frizzy!
Running......

Defense....turned getting coached.

On a different note....Cheering has a new meaning to me this week. Some friends of ours in our ward, their grandson just found out he has leukemia. He is six years old and down at Primary Children's hospital. His mom was Avarie's English teacher. A wonderful family. They had a pep rally today at Kindra's school to show their support and love. There were tons of people and
the TV stations, newspapers, posters & cheerleaders were there. An incredibles showering of love for this cute little boy. Cancer is so evil and has affected many lives. This little boys story is very inspirational and gives me strength as a mom to go on..... his blog is http://www.ironmanjace.blogspot.com/
if you want to read more and cheer on Jace.

The New Toy....MAMMOTH!

It is amazing what my husband can accomplish with a little time off and the dream of a mammoth hoop weighing on his mind. After 30 pages of instructions and a week of assembling the structure we were able to round up some guys (the instructions clearly state 6 adults needed) to help lift it into place. This is no ordinary hoop you have to understand....this is a MAMMOTH!As you can see below, age goes out the window when you have a hoop like this. Thunder dunking is an art.
Nice honey...I knew you still had it.

Mitch and Avarie break in the hoop....as the sun goes down.

Avarie practicing her 3 point shot. Great form Ave...Mitch has something else on his mind...

Reminds me of Michael Jordon? More hoop action to come!

Lucy and Bob....

Lucy and Bob are frogs.... we caught them on Monday. Our new pets. We found them at the bottom of a four foot whole we dug to put cement in for our new basketball hoop (another story/post).
We fed them bugs and put fresh water in the jar everyday....they kept hopping to the top of the jar...just begging us to let them out.
After much talk about, "how would you feel being stuck in a jar not being able to explore the world, catch your own bugs and make new frog friends"....Kindra and Trey decided the best thing would be to let them go.

So, on Friday we let them out at our neighbors little pond. Bob was so excited he quickly jumped away...here Lucy is trying to get the courage to follow. We had pets for 1 week, and they didn't die! It was very exciting.
