Cement

I have a new found respect for cement workers.... We decided to try and save money and Marc and our neighbor, John, (who use to work in the cement business) layed our driveway this week.
It was a long and hot process. We also have a bigger driveway than we thought. Here is the process... Day 1. Getting the forms ready and the soil compacted. This was a 14 hour day.

The stress comes when the truck pulls up. You have to work that cement and get it right where you want it to go. Mitch and his friend Brandon helped out too.

Day 3. This was the last pour of 3. We were very nervous it was going to rain hard, which is not good when doing cement.

Marc was excited to get new rubber boots to play in the cement with. What hard working men!

The finished look. Nice huh? Now all we need is a hoop and a 3 point line to complete the court. urr.. um.. I mean driveway? (I am hoping for a yard of grass, not dirt soon. :)

Road Trip....Mesa Falls

We took a road trip last week to a very beautiful place near by. (I think there are a lot of places we have yet to explore here in this part of the world) Mesa Falls has two waterfalls, a small one and a big one. It is so amazing. This is right by the bigger falls. Upper Mesa Falls. You could feel the spray coming off the falls. Can you see the mist in the picture below? It looked like a tropical paradise on the other side of the falls because it is so wet and doesn't get much sunlight.

Oh no, kids...don't lean too far over please...you are making me nervous!! Wait, where is Kindra?

There was a lodge by the falls where you could go in and see many animal skins and actually touch them. The kids really had fun with the bears!

I see a real similarity in Trey and this bear. Same eyes, same hair, same mouth, and same teeth spacing!

Girls Camp

Girls Camp 2009! YOU DID IT GIRLS! See the whole story below~! (Katelyn, you had way to much candy...didn't you?)

Last week was girls camp. It was a ward camp at Reunion Flats at the base of the Teton Mountains. The girls are SO Excited, can you tell? Did I mention the 7 mile hike they are going on during the week?...... It was a LONG HIKE! We hiked up by Fred's mountain which is right across from the Teton Mountains! HUGE DEAL HERE... do you see there is still SNOW where we hiked!?Oh and yes, this is NOT the top yet.

Here is the top. (I went along too.) It was an amazing experience that I will never ever do again in my entire life! There was no oxygen tank at the top of the mountain waiting for me? Did I mention the elevation we were at was 9500 feet! (Rexburg is 4500, and Moscow 2500) Can you say oxygen shortage!? Yep! The bright side of it was just doing it with my girls. I love them!

This is a great view of how far up we hiked. Julie, the bishops wife was our group leader she was great! See those littel pin dot trees down the hill? That is where we started. It took us 3 hours to get up and 2 hours to get down. I can only compare it to climbing stairs for 3 hours straight!! You can feel the fat burning off baby!

I wanted to get a picture of the girls when they came home from camp. For some reason after 4 days in the wilderness and no water to bath in....they hit the showers pretty fast!! Girls YOU DID IT!

Who is that Birthday Girl?

It is KINDRA! This week Kindra turned 8 !! She had a fun birthday with lots of fun games and dad even gave her a pink cowgirl hat! She is now a true Hibbard girl. She is ready to ride horses.
She chose to go to McDonalds for her birthday dinner....not everyone was too excited about that but Trey was:) I cannot believe my little Kibbie is eight. She will be baptised next month and is way excited about that! She loved hanging out in the Lake at Grandma and Grandpa Skinner's place last weekend and Aunt Tera even made her cupcakes and we had a little pre-birthday party! What a happy, special, sensative little girl she is. LOVE YOU KIN KINNER!

THE CABIN, COUSINS and the 4th of July!

What a quick weekend of fun we had! We drove up to CoeurdAlene Idaho for the weekend where Grandma and Grandpa Skinner just finished their cabin. It is beautiful, and a fun place to relax and play! We loved being back in North Idaho with all the trees and of course family! Here is a truck load of kids! Cousins! It was funny having them all load in the truck to take them down to the water to catch a ride on the Richard's boat.

We brought up the kayaks and enjoyed the quiet calm bay. Mitch caught some air time...anticipating the cold water, notcie the strained neck muscles?

What a great time the kids had together, laughing and running around! We finally got them to sit still for a quick picture. (Trey is still trying to make armpit noises!)
