It was a beautiful wedding, and summer! I am still trying to move into fall. Good-bye Summer! :(

Holy Cow what a crazy month!

It has been a crazy busy month for us! Here is a quick recap. Marc went to INDIA!! Oh and by the way, cows are holy in India. They roam the streets. Marc was gone for 2 weeks and had an amazing time traveling to different universities. A funny story happened when he was there- He had many people want to get their picture taken with him....They thought he was BRUCE WILLIS!!
Katelyn had a birthday! BIG 17!!
Katelyn had a spring fling dance! They made their own shirts and had a blast with these fun boys!
Mitch had a birthday! And he got BRACES! It's a good look for you! Starts the marathon of basketball camps soon!
Another dance! PROM! Katelyn had a great time with Kohlton. They looked adorable in their purple!
Oh, and I cannot forget that AVARIE is home from BYU!! and soon leaving again! She got a job at WSU in Pullman and will be up there for the summer! Just another great excuse to do some heavy vacations up north!!

Easter Baptism

Crazy things happen when we head back to Moscow for our spring break! Like getting these cousins together. Katelyn still wants to be in on all the action.
The main purpose of heading up there was that Trey wanted to get baptized in Moscow so all of his cousins and grandparents could be there. It was a beautiful day and we were so thankful to the family and friends who came to celebrate with us!
We are so proud of Trey and the choice he made to be baptized! He was so sweet during Grandpa Skinners talk, I looked over and tears were rolling down his face. He sqeezed my hand and said he was so nervous! What an amazing little boy. And a wonderful way to celebrate Easter!

March Madness Mania and Tradition

The other night I went to tuck Kindra in bed. (There has been a lot of basketball the last few months around here.) I asked her..."do you like basketball?" "Do you really want to play?" She said to me..."Mom, in the Skinner Family, it's tradition!" Well, seeing as our brackets for March Madness (which we filled out last week for FHE) have fallen apart, here are some pictures of the Skinner Tradition over the last few months. Let the pictures speak for themselves...

t

Seeing these two basketball players at the State Tournament was a high light of the season!!

DYW

DYW= Distinquished Young Woman. Ok, formerly Jr. Miss. You all know what I am talking about. There were 34 girls in this years program...and they did it all in one very long night!! Katelyn did her thing and rocked the stage. Showing everyone what her family all ready knew...she is a beautiful, talented, brave young lady to do what she did infront of a packed house of over 1500 people!
Singing her song...feeling good! We were all feeling great seeing her singing her jazz.
The infamous hinge kick! She hated doing them, but I think she looks great! Watch out NYC rockettes!
They have changed the rules to having the girls wear short dresses. Kate has those awesome legs, so she looked gorgeous.
The theme was Urban Jungle. Kate's opening number was incredible. She looked amazing in her zebra gear.
It was so nice to have our family together cheering her on! We were all so proud of her!!!

Christmas Roles

The Role of Santa will be played by Trey...it was a long night.
The Role of Santa's elf will be played by Kindra. What a great helper.
The role of Angel=Katelyn, The Shepherd and Inn Keeper=Avarie, Joseph=Trey (even though he complained that he is ALWAYS Joseph, but we told him that Joseph was a very important role), Mary= Kindra, and.....(yes he came up with this one on his own) The role of the manger=Mitchel. I think this is an important part too- holding the baby Jesus during that very special night!
And the role of Grandma Lig...Grandma herself! We loved having her here and spoiling her! What special memories! Hope your Christmas was very Merry.

A little spiritual message to end on as I reflect on the season. What roles will we play in the coming year..friend, parent, teacher, and how can we incorporate the Savior into those roles? Just a little thought as we start our New Years Resolution list. Wishing you all a wonderful New Year! 2012!
